Comprehensive Projects for Academic Years and Areas/Subjects

EDIA's resources are organized into projects that allow the teacher and the students to fully develop the different areas or subject matters throughout the academic year.

All of the OER that belong to the same individual project have a similar structure, format, and approach.

Basic Reference Materials for Students and Teachers

The projects are each conceived as the main teaching element. It is not necessary to add other materials (although the teacher may wish to do so) for the project to fully develop the different competencies, objectives, and criteria that it was designed to cover.

Realistic Timing

The foreseen time allotments for the set of projects that belong to one subject area fits the number of curriculum hours for that subject area during the school year.

Reference to the Curriculum

All projects are linked to the development of competencies, skills, and specific objectives from the curriculum. The projects are not a complement to the work inside the classroom; instead, they are the tool and primary means for classroom work.

Modular Structure

All materials generated for the projects have a modular structure that allows for their different parts to be used separately – with the planned work still making sense despite the material segregation undertaken. Likewise, it is possible to add new materials to the project or partially modify some of the existing ones.

Authors' Rights

The inclusion of external contents into the resources is undertaken in accordance with authors' rights. In any event, creators must always opt for materials that allow teachers to reuse and adapt them.

ICT and Other Resources

All projects include activities and/or tasks related to the use of ICT in the classroom. These types of activities are combined with tasks and assignments of another type (written exercises, spoken activities, work to be undertaken on sheets of paper or poster board, etc.).
